New Botox Treatments

Gummy smile

When you smile do you feel you show more gum than teeth?
If you answered yes you may have a condition commonly known as a “Gummy smile” or medically referred to as excessive gingival display.

Why do I have a gummy smile?
There are usually 2 reasons:
The  muscles that control the movement of the upper lip are hyperactive which then causes the upper lip to rise higher than normal.  This usually results in more of your gum tissue showing when you smile.

The other reason is an abnormal eruption of your teeth.
Treatment involves 2 botulinum toxin injections given to stop the upper lip muscle from being hyperactive.  This treatment results in a confident smile and is life changing to the individual.

Treatment £100 or (£50 as an additional area)

Facial slimming

At The Skin Works we carry out facial slimming using botulinum toxin (botox).

This treatment is also carried out for people who clench and grind their teeth (bruxism) and Temporal Mandibular pain (TMD).  20-40% of people at some point have TMJ pain caused by clenching and grinding their teeth often whilst asleep which causes muscle hypertrophy, fractured + worn teeth and facial pain.

The master muscle located in the lateral outer lower edge of your lower face becomes enlarged through clenching the teeth which gives a square jaw appearance.  Different cultures can naturally have these features of a square jaw. With botox we can target these muscles and reduce them in size.  This leads to a thinner lower more heart shaped face.

Is this the right treatment for me?
If you feel the side of your face and clench your teeth you may feel a hardened area or a bulging of muscle.  If the muscle appears hard and enlarged you may be a good candidate for this treatment.
